Dos Gringos
had a few drinks last night at dos gringos while discussing some business. it’s hard to believe i was asked to leave there one night. especially when they have a sign on the wall that reads “The drunker you are, the better i screw”!

This is how my alcoholic mother started out. Granted, she was like 14 when she was at this point… but still haha. I see both sides. He does not see a problem because he’s not getting drunk. No drunk=no alcoholic in his mind. You see having a few every, single night as a problem because he seems to NEED it every day. Need alcohol on a daily basis=alcoholic. I think it IS a problem because it bothers you so much that you brought the topic up. If one person in a relationship has a problem with something, then it’s a problem. If he NEEDS those drinks to relax then it’s becoming an addiction and may already be one. You said if there isn’t beer, he goes for the next alcoholic beverage available. This, to me, is a problem: problem as in alcoholism. You don’t have to be a raging drunken wife beater to be an alcoholic. It just means that you’re addicted to alcohol. As for the “majority” of America having a “few” EVERY night… I believe he is sorely mistaken. In my family, it’s normal. Most of my friends and their parents are not like this. In fact, most of my friends above age 25 or so don’t even keep alcohol in their home on a regular basis. They buy it for parties, holidays or a random treat. So is a problem? You say it’s a problem for you… that means it’s a problem. If you were smoking a few joints every day to relax and he didn’t like it, would that mean it wasn’t a problem just because YOU didn’t think so? Bring that up to show him your point of view. Also bring up how much money he’s spending on alcohol. If he were to stop doing that and put that money into savings, imagine how much would be there after a couple of years. Put it into a college fund for (future?) kids. There are SO many more important things to put that money toward on a regular basis like that. If I were in your position, I would have a HUGE problem with it.
well, i guess i should have clarified that the reason they thought i had too much to drink was because my feet were killing me and i was having a hard time walking in my new shoes. once they realized that it was all good 🙂
